The Kansas Horse Council welcomes Back Country Horsemen of America-Kansas as the official trails division of the KHC.
Erin Glassman, current president of BCHA-Ks, will be working with KHC Trails Director Jim Thomas representing equestrian interests in utilizing public trails across the state.
Through BCHA, equestrian volunteer trail workers log hours spent on equestrian campground and trail maintenance and improvements.
For 2018, total volunteer hours in Kansas reached 4,000! Using values provided by BCHA, monetary value of these work hours exceeds $225,000. Jim shares this information each year with public land managers and KDWP&T officials letting them know that equestrians are committed to working alongside public land managers to ensure a future of trail riding opportunities in Kansas.
Contact Jim or Erin to find out how you can become involved! Jim, 785-633-4761, firstname.lastname@example.org or Erin, 620-617-7221, email@example.com. Go to bchkansas.com or Back Country Horsemen of America Kansas Chapter on Facebook for more info.
